Cartoon walk 'Pub humour'
This summer we organize our first cartoon walk. The walk starts and ends at the European Cartoon Center, René D'Huyvetterstraat 5C, Kruishoutem. The accessible route of 5.5 km leads you along 5 cartoon spots. It is an elongated exhibition of some 40 cartoons of mainly Flemish cartoonists with pub humor as the theme.
Participating cartoonists:
André Nollet, Jean-Marie Mathues (Quirit), Leon De Borger (Lejon), Lise Vanlerberghe, Luc De Scheemaeker (O-sekoer), Luc Vernimmen, Philippe Bossens (Phifi), Pol Leurs, Mario De Koninck (AAaRGh), Norbert Van Yperzeele, Ronald Vanoystayen, Stefaan Provijn (Stef), Sus Damiaens (Canary Pete).
But there's more: between the stops, the organizers take you on "a pub crawl of the 19th and 20th centuries”. Thanks to the support of the Heemkundige Kring Hultheim, you will learn more about the pubs and breweries of that era. This summer walk has a lot to offer: family enjoyment, a beautiful route, culture, humour and heritage.
You can round off your walk with a delicious regional beer in the BRASSERie of the Cartoon Centre (only on Sundays or for groups by reservation).
The description and a map can be downloaded for free at www.ecc-kruishoutem.be as from 27 June or you can pick them up on Sunday at the European Cartoon Center.
Contest:
take pictures or movies during your walk along the cartoon spots. The funnier the better of course! Share your photos via social media with #cartoonwalk #cafehumor and tag us on Instagram (@ecckruishoutem), Facebook (EuropeanCartoonCenter) or TikTok (@ecckruishoutem).
Each week on Sunday evening we will choose 1 winner and he will receive a cartoon package worth 20 Euro.
