The ECC organizes a special exhibition of 40 years André Nollet cartoons.
André Nollet was born in Wervik (Belgium) in 1946 where he learned to draw and write with the slate-pencil in the local school. At the St.-Amandscollege in Kortrijk he was teached Greek and Latin and it was at St-Lucas that he could perfect his drawing talent.
Since 1982 he is a teacher in publicity design at the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp.
In 1986 he starts his own creation office “Nollet Cartoons & Creatie”. He has specialized in thinking up and performing campaigns concerning security, environment, sensitisation, anti-harassment,… and he elaborates this campaigns with cartoons. His range of art activities includes also the development of advertisements and printings.
From 1980 until 1999 he was the sports cartoonists of the newspaper Het Nieuwsblad and he was the spiritual father of Oscar PALMKES, published in every Flemish newspaper between 1987 and 1998. He invented also the series “Krol & Brol” for the Stipkrant and “Toontje & Denise” for the monthly Raak.
