In order to slow the spread of COVID-19, the ECC will be closed till the 19th of April.


Gürbüz was born in 1954 in Ordu Mesudiye (Turkey). He studied Graphic Design at the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts in İstanbul. 

He started his academic career in the same school in 1980.


In his art life which he started with caricature in 1977, he produced works in different fields including illustration, painting and 3D works. He has won 71 national and international awards. He has appeared in prestigious international publications such as The New Yorker, Forbes, The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times.


The New Yorker magazine was published six times with covers signed by Gürbüz. He also once designed the Forbes magazine cover. He has had 25 solo exhibitions, and his work has been exhibited in many group exhibitions.


He is a great fan of surrealistic painters, especially of the Belgian René Magritte. An one of his favorite topics are cats. So in this exhibition Gurbuz will show you cats in many funny situations.




You can visit his exhibition in the ECC from 12 April till 21 Juin 2020, every Sunday from 10 to 12 am and from 2 to 5 pm. Groups of 10 persons or more are welcome on other days by appointment.
