Hats off! Literally and figuratively, because this year marks the 25th edition of the Euro-kartoenale Kruishoutem with the theme: “The Hat – Hats Off”.

The hat: a fashion accessory that symbolizes creativity, playfulness, and respect. The final touch to an outfit. Just like the cartoonist adds colour, humour, and cleverness to how we see the world. No long speeches, no complex theories – just a few lines and a powerful idea, sometimes with a wink, sometimes sharp and confrontational.

Hats off! to the boldness, the fluent lines, the craftsmanship and boundless imagination of the 728 cartoonists from 82 countries across 5 continents, who submitted a total of 2,659 cartoons for this jubilee edition of the Euro-kartoenale.

And hats off! as well to the international jury who faced the challenge of selecting from this visual firework the cartoons for the exhibition and ultimately choosing the prize winners. A real feat!
