From 29 january till 03 april 2017

Roger lives in a village in the English countryside near Wales. The nearest town is Ludlow in Shropshire. He moved there in 1999 to become a full-time freelance cartoonist after working for many years as an architect in London and living in its suburbia.

His cartoons have been published worldwide and book collections of his cartoons have been published in the UK, USA and China. He has held one-man exhibitions in the UK, Turkey, Poland and the Czech Republic. He has been a judge in international cartoon competitions in the UK, Turkey, Ukraine, Northern Cyprus, Romania and Greece and also has won prizes in many cartoon contests. In the UK his work has appeared in books, newspapers and magazines, on calendars, greetings cards, Christmas cards and in publicity and promotional material for major companies.

He was the international president of the Federation of Cartoonists Organisations from 2002-2006. He was one of the founder members of the UK’s Professional Cartoonists Organisation and is a member of the British Cartoonists Association and the Cartoonists Club of Great Britain. He is the originator, and for many years the chairman, of the Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival in England, which has been held every year since 2004. It is the longest-running cartoon festival to be held in the UK.

Except for when drawing live for the public at cartoon festivals, his work has been entirely digital since becoming a full-time cartoonist. He uses the program Corel Painter with a MAC computer and Wacom drawing tablet. As one of the early digital cartoonists, he was keen for his artwork to look like it had been traditionally drawn with pen, ink and wash. He often entered work into contests without mentioning it was drawn digitally and it was always accepted! During his time as FECO President he successfully campaigned to have digital artwork prints accepted for cartoon contests.

His main interests outside cartooning are his collection of acoustic guitars, playing and singing in a folk trio, singing in a community choir and running a local Folk Club.
