  • In Mol there is a FECO-exhibition 'Eroticartoons'
  • In November is the awarding ceremony of the Cartoonale Olen
  • In December the city of Wavre is organizing it's 'Festival du Dessin de Presse'
  • In the ECC you can see two brand new exhibitions:
    • The Turkish cartoonist Musa Gümüs
    • 'Laughing with the Death'

And why not, if you are in Belgium, going to our neighbour countries The Netherlands or Luxemburg:

  • In Amsterdam you can visit the new exhibition by Willem Rasing
  • And in Luxemburg Pol Leurs has a new personal show

Guaranteed we have forgotten a lot of other exhibits here to mention, let us know at info@ecc-kruishoutem.be and announce your activity definitely on our website.

You find more information about the exhibitions on the homepage on our website (news)

So it promises to be a fascinating cartoon autumn.

The agenda for the coming months is already quite full.

One upon a time ...cartoon museum conference

4 years ago the ECC Kruishoutem hosted the cartoon museum conference from the 7th till the 9th of September.
17 museums from Europe, Asia, Africa and North-America participated at this conference with the theme 'Connecting through cartoons':

– European Cartoon Center Kruishoutem – Belgium
– Azim Azimzadeh Cartoon Museum – Azerbeidjan
– Museum of Caricature and Cartoon Art Warsaw -Poland
– Surgut Fine Arts Museum – Russia
– House of Humour Gabrovo – Bulgaria
– Cartoon Museum Zemun – Serbia
– Tabriz Cartoon Museum – Iran
– Portocartoon – Portugal
– Toonseum Pitssburgh – United States of America
– Fayoum Caricature Museum – Egypt
– Atila Ozer Cartoon House – Turkey
– Markiezenhof – spotprentenmuseum Bergen Op Zoom – The Netherlands
– Persmuseum Amsterdam – The Netherlands
– Turan Selcuk Cartoon House – Turkey
– Cartoon Museum Eskişehir – Turkey
– The Israeli Cartoon Museum
– Musée de la carticature et du cartoon Vianden – Luxemburg

We had a full program with great exchanges of best practices about how cartoons can connect people, how cartoon museums can connect with the public and how we could work together.

It was fun and we had a lot of energy and the first collaborations did start. Due to, especially economical reasons in the sector, there was no 5th cartoon conference organised any more. A pitty!

After reading our conference blog again, all good memories and great ideas came back. I really like to share the conclusions of the conference with all of you and I really hope that ones we can continue what we started together.
