9. When will the jury meeting take place?
The live jury meeting will take place in the European Cartoon Center on the 27th of January 2023. If the corona pandemic results in specific restrictions on travelling or events the live jury meeting can be replaced by an on line meeting.
10. Who will be the jury members?
The jury is an international jury of cartoon professionals. The names will be published on the website after the deadline for the entries.
11. How is the jury meeting organised?
We find it very important to have a live jury meeting to guarantee a transparent and discussed verdict of the complete jury. If the corona pandemic results in specific restrictions on travelling or events the live jury meeting can be replaced by an on line meeting.
There will be an online pre-selection by all the jury members. The first 300 cartoons of this e-selection will be presented to the live jury meeting (printed on high quality paper or the original works sent by traditional mail). For that reason all works send by traditional mail, will be scanned and put in the pre-selection database by the organisers.

The Euro-kartoenale is a biennial cartoon competition that has been organised in Kruishoutem (Belgium) since 1978. At each edition cartoonists are invited from all over the world to present drawings with a pre-defined theme. The universal topics are carefully selected and are not always of an apparent nature.
In previous editions the following topics were examined : Chicken and Egg, The Weather, The Circus, Money, Suitcases, Electricity, Freedom, Sand pebble and gravel, The Bicycle, Shoes, The Soul, Soil pollution and sanitation ... The themes that stimulate the artist's creativity also greatly increase the quality of the drawings that are presented.
The Euro-kartoenale Kruishoutem has evolved over the years and reached the summit of the world as an international recognised organisation of quality.
The Euro-kartoenale is organised by the European Cartoon Center, an independent non-profit organisation ruled by a group of people passionate by cartoons since the start.
22. How are the rights of cartoonists respected?
By participating the artist agrees with the rules and authorize the organizers to publish the submitted works in the catalogue and for the promotion of the exhibition. For any other use of the cartoons the permission of the cartoonist is previously requested.
