The Euro-kartoenale is a biennial cartoon competition that has been organised in Kruishoutem since 1978.
At each edition cartoonists are invited from all over the world to present drawings with a pre-defined theme. The universal topics are carefully selected and are not always of an apparent nature.
In previous editions the following topics were examined : Chicken and Egg, The Weather, The Circus, Money, Suitcases, Electricity, Freedom, 'Sand, pebble and gravel', The Bicycle, Shoes, Soil pollution and sanitation, The Soul, The Wall, ... The themes that stimulate the artist's creativity also greatly increase the quality of the drawings that are presented.
The Euro-kartoenale Kruishoutem has evolved over the years and reached the summit of the world as an internationally recognised organisation of quality.
