Roger Mofrey

The French cartoonist Roger Mofrey was born in 1927 in Paris, where he graduated as an interior designer.

 

It is a versatile man who combined a long career of artistic director in an advertising agency with the drawing of press cartoons for “Ici Paris", "France Dimanche", "Samedi Soir", "Radar", "Le Hérisson", "Marius", "La Presse", "Paris Flirt", "Almanach Vermot", etc.

 

Later he moved to London for three years to make press cartoons for the Daily Telegraph.

On his return to France, he worked for 25 years with Pierre Bellemare, Jean-Claude Olivier and Paul Rouland for television shows like ‘La tête et les jambes’, ‘Les Paris de TF1’ et ‘Téléshopping’.

 

He has had personal exhibitions in Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, Switzerland and has received grand prizes in Louviers, Lussac Saint-Emilion, Saint-Just-Le-Martel and Juvignac.

 

In recent years, Mofrey focuses on contemporary painting.

The exhibition with more than 100 cartoons and 3D-works can be visited from the 4th of April till the 20th of June 2010 in the ECC, every sunday from 10-12 a.m and 2-5 p.m.
